The Aphrodite String Quartet  was born in 1998,  under the guidance of Maestro Milan Skampa, violist of the renowned Smetana Quartet, by attending the 5 years Corso Speciale di Perfezionamento in Quartetto d’Archi Slavo at the Music School in Fiesole. In 2003 the Aphrodite String Quartet attended the Corso di Perfezionamento in Quartetto d’Archi  at the Music School of Sesto Fiorentino under the guidance of Maestro Franco Rossi, cellist of the Italian Quartet.

In the year 2004, due to the substitution of two of its members, the Aphrodite String Quartet  changed its name in Venus String Quartet. In the same year, it won the 3rd Prize in the Concorso Nazionale di Musica da Camera AGIMUS. In the year 2007, with the return of one of its founding member, the quartet resumed its previous name: Aphrodite String Quartet,  thus underlining the continuity of a almost 10 year activity. In March 2008 the Aphrodite String Quartet attended the XIII The European String Quartet Academy, studying under the guidance of Maestro Milan Skampa, Maestro Peter Cropper (Lindsay Quartet), Maestro Andrea Nannoni.

From the outset the “Aphrodite” String Quartet, has given concerts which met with instant success such as IV Festival del Quartetto di Loro Ciuffenna, II rassegna “Giovani concertisti” di Sovigliana, Regione Toscana (Festival “Come vi pare prchè pari!”) , Solisti della Florence Symphonietta (2007, 2008 e 2011), Agimus Firenze  (2008: I esecuzione assoluta de “Per Afrodite” di Caterina Paoloni and 2009),  Museo Marino Marini (Festival “Sui Generis” 2011: I esecuzione assoluta de “Accordo Incendiario”di Andrea Portera) in Florence and in a lot of italian cities like Bertinoro, Mestre (Teatro Kolbe), Bologna, Casalgrande (RE) (Quartettiamo! 2010), Torino (II Rassegna I Fiori della Musica 2011), Paganico (I Rassegna I Concerti de La Tenuta 2011), Reggio Emilia (Rassegna estiva 2011), Livorno (V Stagione di Musica da Camera 2011)…
