Marilena Cutruzzulà, cello

Marilena Cutruzzulà displayed her precocious talent while studying piano and later on cello. She graduated  in cello in 1998 at the Conservatoire “S. Giacomantonio”  in Cosenza.

In the same year, she performed as a soloist the Rococò Variations by P.Ĭ.Čajkovskij under the conductorship of Maestro Piero Bellugi at the Teatro Rendano in Cosenza.

She won the selection for the Orchestra Giovanile Italiana, and was 1st cello in the whole the artistic production, thus being able to play  with renowned conductors

She completed her musical education by studying  with Maestros A. Nannoni, A. Meunier, B. Baraz, E. Bronzi, R. Filippini, M. Zigante and in the meanwhile developed a deep interest in chamber music which she studied with Maestros P. Farulli, D. De Rosa, M. Jones, R. Zanettovich, M. Skampa, E. Porta.

She performed either as a member of the main symphony orchestras in Italy, Holland, Spain, Austria, Germany, playing with Z. Mehta, S. Osawa, G. Sinopoli, C.M. Giulini, E. Inbal, G. Rath, D. Gatti, C. Hogwood, G. Gelmetti, G. Ferro, S. Accardo, or of chamber music ensembles.

She presently plays with the Orchestra Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Orchestra dell’Accademia della Scala di Milano, Orchestra Regionale Toscana, Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina, Camerata Strumentale di Prato, Orchestra AgimusArte.
